In Quebec, the security guard permit issued by the Bureau de la Sécurité privée (BSP) is mandatory for every person wishing to work as a security guard. Prior to applying for this permit, you must successfully complete a 70-hour basic security guard training program recognized by the BSP.

Bring a photo identification.
You have to be at least 18 years of age with no criminal record.
